%0 Journal Article %T Caddebostan in the Byzantine Period Ruphinianus (Drys) %A Enis Karakaya %J - %D 2018 %X ¡°Ruphinianus¡± which it mentioned in ancient historical sources, localized to Caddebostan. Actually, it was replaced by a town called ¡°Drys¡±. This was a point of range on the mainroad to Asia Minor. A small safe harbour, protected by a breakwater, a pier, a ware house, emborion and a considerable number of secular and religious buildings, including a showy summer palace, were not far from the shore at Ruphinianus. The Monastery of Hypaseos, Church of Havarion, Church of Hagios Mikhael and Romain are religious buildings of the town. A dormitorium (guest house) was in the Monastery of Hypaseos. There was also a martyrion. There are few architectural traces left in the Byzantine settlement, due to the new structuring. A number of columns, column capitals and other architecturals fragments are to be found in the some houses garden and neighborhood park in G£¿ztepe.
