%0 Journal Article %T Late Ottoman Period¡¯s Spaces of ¡°Excursion¡± and National Gardens in The Light of Archieve Documents %A Oya £¿ENYURT %J - %D 2018 %X In Ottoman World, there¡¯re some words that define and spatialize the excursion practise in general which is defined as part of air, spatial variences and watching the view. Among these, excursion spaces (mesire) are essential places that are used for celebrations, spending leisure times and socialising. National gardens that emerged in the second half of 19th century, created a breaking point and became a new center of attention of society in the sense of their traces of different urban space creation with regard to their locations, functions, construction decisions and processes. In this article, some national gardens which revealed a new entertainment and excursion space in the late Ottoman period will be examined on the basis of findings over the words regarding the excursion spaces.
