Inorder to beter understand Marcel's philosophy, theformation of his ideas, his existential position and the inter action with existential philosophers will be examined. In addition, the basic concepts of life, which is of greatimportance in theformation of thephilosophy of Gabriel Marcel and thesystem of his thoughtthat he describes as "concrete philosophy," arediscussed. It is our contention that Marcel¡¯stheistphilosophy has a greatimportanceespecially in ourcountry, becausewhen it comestoexistentialism in general it is mostlyunderstoodin thecontext of atheistexistentialistssuch as Jean Paul Sartreand Albert Camus, andit ismostlyassociatedwithatheismin certaincircles.
