%0 Journal Article %T The Rising Voice from the lodge of Progress and the Idea of Evolution: How Does a Sheikh Refute the Theory of Darwin? %A Fulya £¿BANO£¿LU %J - %D 2018 %X In this article, the transcription of a manuscript on the main issues of Ottoman modernization, the idea of evolution and evolution, its connection with the Darwinian Theory and finally the criticism of Darwinian philosophy will be given; the content of the manuscript will be evaluated. The author of this manuscript named Darvin¡¯e Cevab £¿r£¿adu¡¯l-£¿av£¿n Bi-Reddi Nazariyeti Feylesof Darvin is Mehmed Elif Efendi, who was a sheikh from 1980 until the year of 1926, when the lodges were closed in the Ey¨¹p Has£¿r£¿zade Dergah£¿, one of the most important lodges of Ottoman Istanbul. This manuscript, probably written in the early years of the Republic, was only the name of this manuscript known until 2016.
