%0 Journal Article %T Abaqa Khan Period (1265-1282) Foreign Policy of Ilkhanids (Golden Horde, Chagatai and Mamluk Examples) %A Kurban DURMU£¿O£¿LU %J - %D 2019 %X Ilkhanids was a satellite state of Mongols, which was founded in Iran by H¨¹leg¨¹ Khan, grandson of Cenghiz Khan. Taking the name from H¨¹leg¨¹'s title, the state played an important role especially in Asia Minor in the 13th century. It ruled in Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan and Anatolia and was considered one of the most powerful states of its time in the region. Ilkhanids, have left important political, military and cultural traces in this region. The geography in which it was founded led them to struggle continuously for dominance with the Golden Horde, Chagatai and Mamluks. In this study, the external relations of Ilkhanids, particularly those during Abaka Khan Era were discussed. In our study, we will discuss Abaka Han's process of ascending.
