Accordingly, the Suleymaniye Mosque can be considered as a semiotic text. This text reads in Yahya Kemal and Mehmet £¿kif. These two-important national literary poets handled the Suleymaniye Mosque in their poems and had different meanings over it. Suleymaniye Mosque is a tangible reminder of the cultural values of the Turkish-Islamic civilization. In this declaration, Mehmet £¿kif's poem ¡®S¨¹leymaniye K¨¹rs¨¹s¨¹nde¡¯ (On the Pulpit of S¨¹leymaniye) and Yahya Kemal's ¡®S¨¹leymaniye¡¯de Bayram Sabah£¿¡¯ (The Feast Morning in S¨¹leymaniye) will be examined in a comparative manner. In this direction, the concepts of Thomas Stearns Eliot, adopted by the British-American new literary school and founders of modern poetry, will be utilized.
