In adults, the symptoms of esophageal dysfunction include dysphagia, food bolus impaction, regurgitation, vomiting, and chest pain. The diagnosis of eosinophilic esophagitis should be based on the symptoms, endoscopic appearance of the esophagus mucosa, and histological findings.
