Healthcare institutions need medical error reporting systems to be able to identify problems, to produce solutions, and to facilitate learning from errors. However, medical errors in health services are not reported due to various obstacles. Therefore, determining the obstacles in front of the medical error reports and developing the solution proposals will contribute to the effective use of the error reporting systems. The aim of this study was to investigate the barriers to medical error reporting. Material Method: In study, it is aimed to evaluate the opinions and attitudes of health care workers regarding the reporting of medical errors in the light of this information. In addition, it was researched whether the responses of health workers to the questionnaire items used in the study differ according to some variables (sex, education level, duty, total working years in profession, error reporting status and hospital type studied). In this respect, the study is a research in the relational screening model. Results: According to the results of the research, it is seen that among the factors that prevent health workers' error reporting, the expression "reporting is consid[1]ered to have little contribution to improve the quality of care" has the highest average (X = 3,18). It was determined that the perceptions of the factors preventing the healthcare workers' error reporting did not show any significant difference according to the level of education, relative, medical error reporting status and hospital type. In addition, it was determined that there will be a change in the perceptions of health workers about the fear of punishment, the fear of being sued and the lack of motivation after the new regulations and policies to be made in the institution. Conclusion: Employees in health institutions should be informed about medical errors, error reporting and patient safety. More studies should be conducted on different specialties and occupational groups in order to identify and report on barriers to medical error reporting, and the involvement of patients in reporting medical errors should be emphasized %K Kalite %K t£¿bbi hata raporlama %U http://dergipark.org.tr/sdusbed/issue/45828/518098
