%X Abnormal nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD +) metabolism causes a wide spectrum of diseases. A recent study ( Cell Rep. 2019;26:969¨C983) shows that postpartum NAD + homeostasis is depressed. By restoring NAD + homeostasis, maternal nicotinamide riboside (NR) supplementation during lactation enhances postpartum weight loss, as well as juvenile development and adult neurogenesis in the offspring
