%X Sa£¿etak The paper is primarily based upon reports about the condition in the area, which provide the clearest assessment of the current condition, of the analysis of the spatial development and the development planning for the following period. It concerns reports for the town of Senj and the municipality of Karlobag. In the paper the author emphasises what the basic problems are, but also the defined comparative advantages in the planning of the observed region in the sub- Velebit channel. So, with the aid of such documents it is possible to plan and foresee a possible development which is based on the existing conditions
