It reflects the paradigm shift in fantastic literature at the end of the 19th century. The aim of this paper is to explore the representation of urban space in Antun Gustav Mato£¿¡¯s short stories ¡°Mi£¿,¡± ¡°Du£¿evni £¿ovjek¡± and ¡°Ubio!¡± The paper analyses to what extent the unusual, inexplicable and bizarre events are linked to the urban space in which they occur.
