%X Robert Jenson was one of America¡¯s most original and influential theologians. This essay provides an overview of his theological development. It argues that rather than labelling Jenson as a ¡°Barthian¡± or somesuch, it is more useful to be attentive to the ways in which his thought is formed by a range of influences. It argues that his theology continued to have a Lutheran character, and offers an appreciation of the influence of Rudolf Bultmann on Jenson¡¯s theology
