In this article, a novel virtual simulation system teaching method is presented for numerically controlled engineering training as it helps students acquire the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and the problem troubleshooting techniques on the usage of numerically controlled machines and programming. The architecture underlying theoretical basis for numerically controlled teaching system based on virtual machining technology is described. Furthermore, we have designed a study to explore the projectĄŻs impact on students. The study is based on an experimental approach to evaluate the impact of virtual simulation system teaching on student results during the first year, and then the questionnaire surveys were performed to analyze studentsĄŻ perception of the impact that virtual simulation system teaching had on the studentsĄŻ learning efficacy and level of motivation during the development of numerically controlled machining course. The final results show that the proposed teaching system for numerically controlled machining in the paper has been proved effective and feasible in practical application %K Virtual reality %K simulations %K architectures for educational technology system %K applications in subject areas %K interactive learning environments %U https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/0306419017715426
