In particular, we gathered and analyzed the data about a set of publications in the field from 1995 to 2014. Visual techniques employed include graph-based visualization such as collaboration, co-citation, and co-word networks. We also adopted geographical views, alluvial diagrams, and timelined charts. The produced charts allowed us to have a deeper knowledge on the field of visual languages and on the scientific community working on it %K Visual languages %K graphical review %K knowledge domain visualization %U https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/1473871617714520
