It kills almost as many Americans each year as the second (colorectal), third (pancreas), fourth (breast), and fifth (prostate) most lethal cancers combined. While aggregate 5-year survival rates have improved significantly for breast (90%), colorectal (60%) and prostate (95%) cancers, the overall 5-year survival rate for lung cancer has only increased from 12% in 1975 to 18% in 2016 (1) %U http://tlcr.amegroups.com/article/view/18442/15080
