%X Treatment of choice for stage I (T1-T2N0) non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is surgery. But many patients are unable to tolerate the resection due to poor pulmonary reserve or medically inoperable due to multiple comorbid conditions. Five-year overall survival for untreated patients with stage I NSCLC is 5% and median survival 9 months (13 months for T1), as reported by Raz et al. based on California cancer registry (1)
