%X Squamous cell carcinoma of the anus (SCCA) constitutes 2.4% of gastrointestinal cancers. An estimated 7,210 new cases and 950 deaths in the United States are predicted for 2014 (1). Both the incidence and mortality of anal cancer has been increasing in the U.S. with an annual percentage change of 1.9% and 3.6%, respectively (1)
