%X Mitral regurgitation (MR) is increasingly prevalent in western countries despite reduced incidence of rheumatic disease (1,2). MR results from several heterogeneous conditions, including disorders of the valve leaflets, mitral annulus, chordae tendineae, papillary muscles and left ventricle (LV).
