The pathophysiology of Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is complex and multifactorial, which makes the diagnosis difficult. On the basis of previous and recent published data, key characters could be proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines that are products of adipose tissue, namely inflammatory cells infiltrating the adipose tissue.
