%X Some combinatorial properties of -Stirling numbers are proved. Moreover, two asymptotic formulas for -Stirling numbers of the first kind derived using different methods are discussed and corresponding asymptotic formulas for the -Stirling type numbers of the first kind are obtained as corollaries
