%X Angel Angelov examines the theme of Orientalism in the visual and the literary works of Konstantin Velichkov. He draws the conclusion that in Velichkov¡¯s work Orientalism manifests as a cultural sensibility to the other and is part of his permanent interest in the more important theme of social justice. Angelov compares Velichkov¡¯s paintings with some works of Italian and Austrian artists of the same epoch. He also makes a survey of the publications on Velichkov¡¯s visual and literary works in Bulgaria
