In this context, metabolomics biomarkers exist even before this omics discipline was defined as such, but the fact that a biomarker is based on the changes in the concentration of one or several metabolites does not seem to be enough reason for giving to it the name of metabolomics biomarker. This omission is discussed here for forensic omics in general and for forensic metabolomics in particular. Present forensic biomarkers belonging to different omics are compared and the present and foreseeable future of forensic metabolomics biomarkers discussed %K n/a %U https://scidoc.org/IJFP-2332-287X-05-701.php
