%X Background: Larger platelets are more active and mean platelet volume (MPV) is an indicator of platelet activation and an independent risk factor of cardiovascular diseases. While MPV is reported to be higher in diabetic patients, the relationship between MPV and glycemic parameters in general population remains inconclusive.
