%X Hepatitis B is an acknowledged disease which killed more than 600,000 people yearly due to the HBV related complications. The review discussed the history of HBV, its morphology, and its morphogenesis. It has also discussed the pathogenesis of the virus and the previous and current HBV screening method. Finally, the potential of DNA aptamers as the detection materials for HBV in comparison to antibodies has also been discussed.
