De Jesus %J Open Access Library Journal %V 8 %N 2 %P 1-12 %@ 2333-9721 %D 2021 %I Open Access Library %R 10.4236/oalib.1106332 %X As the salary rise for teachers has been an on-going issue, the researchers studied the spending habits of the teaching personnel and their reasons in borrowing money from financing institutions. This study was conducted in twenty-two public schools in Palayan City with a total of one hundred seventy-seven teaching personnel as respondents. Descriptive research was used in this study through survey questionnaire and interview method in order to reveal the relationship between variables and to answer the research problems. From the result of the findings, it was concluded that teachers mostly spend on basic necessities and they seldom incur miscellaneous and leisure activities. The inflation rate was the most common problem teaching personnel encountered in the spending.
