%X 摘要 本文从新文化史与“媒介与文明”的研究视阈出发，对吴果中教授新著《左图右史 与画中有话——中国近现代画报研究（1874-1949）》进行内容梳理及评析，探讨其研究 价值。同时，受该书研究思路启发，本文倡导传播史学研究可从技术、社会、文化的互 动关系中展开，以实现学术探索的推陈出新。<br>This thesis intends to conduct a detailed analysis of What about Modern China in Pictures (1874-1949), a new book by Professor Wu Guozhong. The content and research value of this book will be elaborated on the horizons of New Cultural History and The Media in Civilization Perspective. Inspired by the research ideas and innovation demonstrated in Wu’s book, this thesis advocates that the study of communication history should be conducted in the interaction among technology, society and culture, so that the innovation in this feld can be realized ultimately
