%X 美国汉学界对中国现代文学的关注始于夏志清的《中国现代小说史》，尔后经李欧梵、Julia Lin（林明晖）诸人的努力而成为“合法”的但仍然是零星学者辛勤耕耘的学术领域。自八十年代开始，美国的现当代中国文学研究发展迅速，逐渐成为汉学中的“显学”之一。新一代学者受益于理论的爆炸和拓展的文本，贡献了许多引人注目的亮点和拐点。<br>The study of modern Chinese literature in the United States starts with C.T.Hsias monograph A History of Modern Chinese Fiction and continues through the efforts of scholars such as Leo Ou-fan Lee，Julia Lin，who have established modern Chinese literature as a “legitimate” field of inquiry in American Sinology.Since the 1980s，the field has gone through periods of rapid growth during which a new generation of scholars，benefiting from the explosion of Theory and its expanded notion of textuality in particular，have made significant advances in the understanding of modern and contemporary Chinese literature writers and their works.
