Methods We analyzed 105 patients with spinal metastases, who were treated from January 2009 to September 2014 and followed up for 5 to 56 months. To study the relationship between prognostic factors and survival time, Kaplan-Meier survival curves and COX model were used. Statistical analysis was performed with statistical software (IBM SPSS ver. 20) with α=0.05 as the standard. Results The univariate analysis according to Kaplan-Meier survival curves showed that the type of primary tumor, the number of vertebral metastases, the number of extraspinal bone metastases, visceral metastases, general conditions (according to KPS), neurological status, ambulatory status, and bowel and bladder functions were related to the patients’ survival time. The multivariate analysis according to the COX model showed that the type of primary tumor, visceral metastases, KPS before treatment and ambulatory status were independent prognostic factors. Conclusion The type of primary tumor, visceral metastases, KPS before treatment and ambulatory status are the independent prognostic factors in patients with spinal metastases %K
