Methods We collected retrospectively the clinical data of 166 GC patients (102 overweight and 64 non-overweight ones) who had undergone radical resection in our department from January 2009 to December 2012. We then compared the two groups in intraoperative and postoperative parameters as well as short-term survival rate. Results The operation time of overweight GC patients was longer than that of non-overweight GC ones (237.70±59.16)min vs. (210.55±54.49)min (P<0.05); the intraoperative blood loss of overweight GC patients was more than that of non-overweight GC patients (346.41±223.63)mL vs. (276.77±155.46)mL (P<0.05). There were no significant differences between the two groups in the number of retrieved lymph nodes, the first flatus time, the first time to have liquid diet, postoperative hospitalization time, postoperative complications, or postoperative 3-year overall survival rate (76.8% and 65.1%) (all P>0.05). Conclusion Overweight is associated with longer operation time and more intraoperative blood loss, but it does not affect the short-term outcomes of the operation %K 胃癌 %K 超重 %K 体质量指数 %K 生存率 %K 胃癌根治术< %K br> %K gastric cancer %K overweight %K body mass index %K survival rate %K radical gastrectomy on gastric cancer %U http://yxxb.xjtu.edu.cn//oa/darticle.aspx?type=view&id=201702029
