%0 Journal Article %T Behavior of Potassium in Soil: A mini review %A Raghad Mouhamad %A Ameera Alsaede and Munawar Iqbal %J Chemistry Internatioanl %P 47-58 %D 2016 %X Potassium (K) is vital to many plant processes and is available in different forms i.e., freely available K in soil is utilized by plant, whereas fixed K (minerals, zeolites, taranakinte, alunite, aluminosilicates) and structural K (feldspars, micas and minerals) is not available for plant uptake and these both forms are regarded as exchangeable and non exchangeable forms of K. Furthermore, the availability of K to plants also depends upon soil properties i.e., moisture, aeration, temperature, tillage system as well as K dynamics.
