assumed that self-awareness is a reliable source of knowledge about the nature
of a person. This paper reprises and compares the views of Immanuel Kant, and
how Gil</span><span style="line-height:1.5;">bert Ryle supplies a partial solution to problems Kant raises. The paper
ends with a presentation of my own view of the difficulties these authors
address about our self-awareness and the self or subject of experiences.</span>
