%X throughthermogravimetricanalysis,theeffectofacidwashonburningperformanceofindustrialsludgewasstudied.bothcharacteristicindexesandkineticparametersofthesludgecombustionwerecalculatedbeforeandaftertheacidtreatment.moreover,thecombustion£¿supportingeffectofacidwashwasinvestigated.theresultsindicatethat,therewerefourweightlosspeaksduringthesludgecombustion,amongwhichthetworepresentingthevolatilematterreleaseandcombustionweightlosswerequiteobvious,whichplayedadominantroleintheentirecombustionprocess.afteracidpickling,thesludge'sspecificsurfaceareaincreased,anditsspatialstructureandchemicalcompositionalsochanged,whichpromotedreleaseofthevolatileorganicmattersinthesludge.thus,theignitionoccurredearlieranddiffusionrateoftheoxygenspeededup,makingthecombustioneasiertogoon.fortheacidwashedsludge,theactivationenergyreducedandthereactionreactivityincreased,indicatingtheeffectofspatialstructureonassistantcombustionwerebetterthanthatoftheself£¿containedmetaloncatalyticeffecttocombustion.
