%X ？speciesdiversityiscloselyrelatedtoforests.themajorreasonfortheacceleratedextinctionofspeciesisdeforestation,especiallyinthetropics.weshouldattachgreatimportancetoreforestationandprotectionofhabitatssoastoregainandconservespeciesdiversity.inthispaper,wewilldiscusstwomethodsofreforestation(naturalrecoveryandartificialreconstruction)？,andtheireffectsonspeciesdiversityincrement.weproposethatartificialmethodcanraisespeciesdiversitymoreeffectivelyandrapidlythannaturalmethod.meanwhile,basedonthefactthathighspeciesdiversityandamplebiologicalresourcesexistindinghushanbiospherereserve,wesuggestthatmoreprotectedareas,eveniftheyarenotsobiginsize,shouldbeestablishedinchinatoconservespeciesdiversityandprotectmoreforesthabitats.
