%0 Journal Article %T rapidconversionofcelluloseto5-hydroxymethylfurfuralusingsingleandcombinedmetalchloridecatalystsinionicliquid %A hussein %A abou-yousef %A el %A barbary %A hassan %A philip %A steele %J 燃料化学学报 %P 214-222 %D 2013 %X ?directconversionofcelluloseinto5-hydroxymethylfurfural(hmf)wasperformedbyusingsingleorcombinedmetalchloridecatalystsin1-ethyl-3-methylimidazoliumchloride(cl)ionicliquid.ourstudydemonstratedformationof2-furylhydroxymethylketone(fhmk),andfurfural(ff)simultaneouslywiththeformationofhmf.variousreactionparameterswereaddressedtooptimizeyieldsoffuranderivativesproducedfromcellulosebyvaryingreactiontemperature,time,andthetypeofmetalchloridecatalyst.catalyticreactionbyusingfecl3resultedin59.9%totalyieldoffuranderivatives(hmf,fhmk,andff)fromcellulose.crcl3wasthemosteffectivecatalystforselectiveconversionofcelluloseintohmf(35.6%)withlessconcentrationsoffhmk,andff.improvingtheyieldsoffuransproducedfromcellulosecouldbeachievedviareactionscatalyzedbydifferentcombinationsoftwometalchlorides.furtheroptimizationwascarriedouttoproducetotalfuransyield75.9%byusingfecl3/cucl2combination.crcl3/cucl2wasthemostselectivecombinationtoconvertcelluloseintohmf(39.9%)withtotalyield(63.8%)offuransproducedfromthereaction.thetemperatureandtimeofthecatalyticreactionplayedanimportantroleincelluloseconversion,andtheyieldsofproducts.increasingthereactiontemperaturecouldenhancethecelluloseconversionandhmfyieldforshortreactiontimeintervals(5~20min). %K microcrystallinecellulose %K ionicliquids %K 5-hydroxyfurfural %K metalchlorides %U http://rlhxxb.sxicc.ac.cn/CN/abstract/abstract18125.shtml
