%X ThefossilspecimensdiscussedinthispaperwerecollectedfromthegrayishgreenmudstoneandshaleintheupperpartofLowerMemberofMiddleTriassicTongchuanFormation(T2t)inShaanxiProvince,China.Venationaryfeaturecorrelationwitholdfamiliesandtaxonomicdiscussionshowthat,amongthem,onespecimencanbeassignedtoanewfamily-Sunopteridaefam.nov.,whichincludesanewgenusandspeciesandcanbereferredtoOrderProtorthopteraHandlirsch,1906intaxonomicposition,thusbelongingtoanewmemberoftheTongchuanEntomoassemblageofShaanxiEntomofauna(belongingtoShaanxiBiota).Thediscoveryofthenewfamilyanditsnewgenusandspecieshascertainreferencevaluesasfollows:¢ÙThediscoveryofthenewfamilyanditsnewgenusandspeciesfillsfirstlythevacancyintheprotorthopterousfieldofChina;¢ÚInthemeantime,itfillsalsothegapsofthevaluableMiddleTriassicprotorthopterousfossilspecimensbetweenLateCarboniferousandLateTriassicEpochsintheworld;¢ÛJudgingfromvenationaryfeaturesandtaxonomicposition,especiallyinthecourseoftheformationofthemergedveinofMandCu,itformedanewuniqueandparticularstyleofmergedveinM+Cu.Itnotonlyisuniqueandsimple,butalsocanbedistinguishedfromtheabovementioned10oldfamilies,thusprovidingimportanttaxonomicevidence.
