%X BeddedmanganeseoredepositsoccurinmanylocalitieswithintheaccretionarybeltsoftheShikokuregion,SWJapan.Thedepositsoccurmostlyinbeddedchertoritsmetamorphosedequivalent.Thesechert-hostedmanganesedepositsareconsideredtohavebeenmanganesenodule/crust-bearingsiliceoussedimentsondeep-seafloorandhavebeenconvertedtomanganeseoresbylow-grademetamorphismthroughsubduction-accretionprocess.Themineralassemblagesoftheoresreflectthemetamorphicgradeoftheaccretionarycomplexes.Ontheotherhand,iron-manganesedepositsandsomemanganesedepositsoccurringdirectlyoverbasaltareconsideredtohavebeenthehydrothermalprecipitatesassociatedwithsubmarinevolcanism.
