%X TheDabieorogenicbeltunderwentdeepsubduc-tionofcontinent,rapidexhumation,andhugeamountoferosionduringtheMesozoic.Itstectonicevolution,especiallyhowthatwasrecordedinsedimentaryba-sinsattheflanksoftheDabieorogenicbeltisoneofthemostimportantissues.TheoveralldistributionofdifferentbasintypesintheorogenicbeltindicatesthatshorteningandthrustingatthemarginsoftheorogenicbeltfromtheLateTriassictotheEarlyCretaceouscontrolledtheforelandbasins,andextension,domingandriftingwereinitiatedinthecoreoftheorogenicbeltfromtheJurassictotheEarlyCretaceous,andwereexpandedtothewholeorogenicbeltaftertheLateCretaceous.
