%X ThebasementofthePhilippineMobileBelt(PMB)ismainlycomposedofophiolitesthataremostlyoverlainbyPaleogenetoMioceneturbiditesincentralLuzon.ToclarifythegeologicaldevelopmentofthePMBwithrespecttotheinitialstageofthearcvolcanism(eg.Yumuletal.,2003,2008;DimalantaandYumul,2003;Suzukietal.,2011),radiolariandatingwasexaminedinsiliceoussedimentsassociatedwiththeophiolitesandturbidites.ThesampleswerecollectedfromsitesidentifiedwiththeZambalesandMontalbanophiolites,basictuffphyllitesinNWDin-galan,andtheiroverlyingformations.
