%X Thepointatissue:TheKurosegawaTerraneiscomposedofcontinentalfragmentstransectingMesozoicterranesofaccretionarycomplexinSouthwestJapan(Fig.1).ItisanattenuatedtectonicsliverandconsideredtobeallochthonouswithrespecttothemainpartofSouthwestJapan.TheproblemofwhichcontinentalblockintheEastAsiancontinentalmarginisthesourceoftheKurosegawaTerranehaspuzzledJapanesegeologistsformanyyears.Firstly,wetrytoapproachthisissuebasedontheanalysisoffusulinaceanassemblageinaccretedterranescomposedofsubductioncomplexinthePacificRim.Secondly,byapplyingtheresultofthisanalysiswetrytolocatethesourceofthecontinentalfragmentsoftheKurosegawaTerrane.Thirdly,wetrytoproveitsvaliditywithanewpaleomagneticstudy.
