%X Iftheyareseparatedaccordingtotheirgeologicalageandreportedonamap,thepost-PalaeozoicgranitesofChinaseemtobetrayaregulardistributioninspaceandtime.Theyemergealongadefinitenetoftectonicfissures;andtheyshiftgraduallyeastwardtowardthepacificmarginoftheland.Thispeculiardistributionsuggeststhatgranitisationisaspecificandperennialgeologicalprocess,possiblyplayingafundamentalpartinthebuildingofcontinents.
