%0 Journal Article %T FaciesAnalysisandSequenceStratigraphyofSilurianCarbonateRampsintheTuran(Kopeh-Dagh)andCentralIranPlateswithEmphasisonGondwanaTectonicEvent %A Zohreh %A NOWROUZI* %A Asadollah %A MAHBOUBI %A Reza %A MOUSSAVI-HARAMI %A Mohammad %A Hossein %A MAHMUDY %A GHARAIE %A and %A Farzin %A GHAEMI %J µØÖÊѧ±¨ %P 1276-1295 %D 2015 %X TwosectionsfromtheSiluriandepositsintheCentralIranMicroandTuranPlatesweremeasuredandsampled.Thesedepositsaremostlycomposedofsubmarinevolcanicrocks,skeletalandnon-skeletallimestone,shaleandsandstonethatweredepositedinlowtohighenergyconditions(fromtidalflattodeepopenmarine).Accordingtogradualdeepeningtrend,widelateraldistributionoffaciesaswellasabsenceofresedimentationdeposits,adepositionalmodelofahomoclinalrampwasproposedforthesedeposits.Fieldobservationsandfaciesdistributionindicatethat,twodepositionalsequenceswererecognizedinbothsections.ThesesectionsshowsimilaritiesinfaciesanddepositionalsequenceduringtheEarlySilurianinthearea.AlthoughtherearesomeopinionsandevidencesthatdemonstratedPaleo-TethysriftingphasestartedattheLateOrdovician-EarlySilurian,similaritiessuggestthattheTuranandIranPlateswerenotcompletelydetachedtectonicblockduringthistime,andthattheirdepositionalconditionswereaffectedbyglobalsealevelchangesandtectonicevents. %K facies %K sequencestratigraphy %K Silurian %K CentralIranPlate %K TuranPlate %U http://www.geojournals.cn/dzxb/ch/reader/view_abstract.aspx?file_no=201504015&flag=1
