%X Thedifferenceinproteincontent,MDH,PODandCODisozymeshavebeenseenbetweenlowlandricerootsanduplandricerootsduringrootgrowthanddevelopment.Highpro-teincontenthasbeenexaminedinuplandriceroots,butisozymebandsinlowlandricerootsaremorethanthatinuplandriceroots.TotalareaofPODisozymebandsatseedlingandtilleringstagesofuplandriceislargerthanthatoflowlandrice.ThePODisozymeszymogramintherootofuplandriceismorestablecomparedwiththatoflowlandrice.MoreCODisozymenumbershavebeenshowedinrootsofuplandrice,buttherelativeactivityofCODisozymeinrootsofup-landriceattheseedlingandtilleringstagesislowerthanthatoflowlandrice.COD7bandcanbeshowninuplandricerootatfloweringstage,butitisabsentinlowlandrice.Therefore,COD7,bandcanbetakenasanindexforresistanceoftheuplandricetodroughtenvironment.
