%0 Journal Article %T TougheningofBMIBasedGraphiteLaminatesbyEx-situConcept %A CHENGQun-feng %A XUYa-hong %A YIXiao-su %J ²ÄÁϹ¤³Ì %P 41-45 %D 2006 %X High-performancebismaleimdes(BMI)matrixcompositesreinforcedbygraphitefiberswerepreparedandtoughenedwithathermoplasticcomponent(PAEK)byusingtheEx-situconcept.Experimentalmatrixwasdesignedforoveralltougheningofthebaseresin,periodicallyinterleavingthermoplasticfilmsintoeachplies(Ex-situconcept)andforvaryingthefilmcompositions.Thehighestimpactdamageresistancecharacterizedbycompressionafterimpact(CAI)wasobtainedforthelaminatestoughenedontheEx-situconcept,especially,whentwo-componentcastfilmsofaspecialrationofPAEK/BMI6040wereinterleavedthoughthethermoplasticconcentrationfortheoveralltoughening,interleavingthepurethermoplasticfilmsandthetwo-componentfilmswascomparable.ThereweretwopeaksfoundintheDSCtraceofthelaminatestoughenedimplyingaphaseseparationprocessoccurred.Theglasstransitiontemperatureofthelaminatestoughenedwasslightlyreducedduetothelow-temperaturePAEK.Morphologicalstudyrevealedatypicalgranularstructurejustintheinterplayregionasaresultofspinodaldecompositionandcoarseningprocess.ThiswasinagreementoftheresultofDSCinvestigation. %K bismaleimdes %K compressionafterimpact %K Ex-situconcept %U http://jme.biam.ac.cn/CN/Y2006/V0/I5/41
