%X Withtherapidurbanization,landbankinghasbecomeanimportantmeansforrationallanduseandlandconfigurationoptimizing.Rationalurbanlandreserveandsupplyplanarekeysforanurbanlandbanking.GIShasbeenusedtomodelurbangrowth,growthattheruralurbanfringespecifically.ThispaperidentifiesthattheurbanlandbankingpotentialcanbeevaluatedbasedonRSandGIStechnology.10indicatorswerechosenintheintegratedindexsystem.AsacaseofMetropolitanareainChongqing,urbanlandbankingpotentialwasevaluatedbasedonRSandGIStechnology.WithGIS,twostepscanhelptofinishpotentialanalysisoflandbanking.Oneisgoaldrivenprocess,suchastheprocessofplanninganddefinition;theotherstepisdatadrivenprocess,suchastheprocessofManipulating.Theresultsareusedtoestablishthecurrentlandbankingplan.
