%X Waverotorisanunsteadyflowdeviceinwhosepassagespressuredstreamsdirectlycontactandexchangetheenergyduetothemovementofpressurewaves.Anovelrefrigerationapparatusnamedpressureexchangingrefrigerator(PER)isdevelopedbyusingfour-portthroughflow(TF)waverotors.Theoperatingprocedureandrefrigerationprincipleareinvestigatedbasedonone-dimensionalunsteadyflowtheory,andthefluidicbehaviorofPERisalsoanalyzedbymeansofcomputationalfluiddynamics(CFD).Abasiclimitationrelationwithmainstructuralparametersandoperatingparametersisdeduced.Mostmaininfluencingfactorsarestudiedbyexperiments.Theisentropicefficiencynowcanget68%.Theresultsshowthatwaverotorsusedforrefrigerationtechnologyarefeasibleandpromisinginpressuredgasrefrigerationcases.
