%0 Journal Article %T DeterminationoftheKelvin-HelmholtzWaveParametersontheMagnetopauseinSingle-spacecraftObservations %A LIN %A Dong %A WANG %A Chi %A LI %A Wenya %A TANG %A Binbin %J 空间科学学报 %P 403-408 %D 2015 %R 10.11728/cjss2014.04.403 %X Kelvin-Helmholtz(K-H)wavesareformedfromthetriggeringoftheK-Hinstabilityonthemagnetopause,whichisacandidatemechanismforsolarwindentryintothemagnetosphere,especiallyundernorthwardinterplanetarymagneticfieldconditions.Inthisstudy,aK-HwaveeventwasidentifiedfromtheobservationofprobeBoftheTimeHistoryofEventsandMacroscaleInteractionsduringSubstorms(THEMIS)missionon15May2008.AnewmethodtodeterminethewaveparametersoftheK-Hwavesinsingle-spacecraftobservationsisproposed.Thedominantwaveperiodisdeterminedbythreekindsofspectrogramsforthreekeyparameters,namelytheiondensity,theiontemperature,andthezcomponentofmagneticfield.Thephasevelocityisestimatedbycalculatingthecenter-of-massvelocityofthedetectedK-Hvortexregion.Thisapproximationisvalidatedbycomparisonwithotheralternativemethods.ThemethodtodeterminethewaveparametersisafirststeptofurtherstudyK-Hwavepropertiesandtheirrelationshipwithinterplanetaryconditions. %K Kelvin-Helmholtzwaves %K Magnetopause %K Single-spacecraftobservation %U http://www.cjss.ac.cn/CN/abstract/abstract2145.shtml
