%0 Journal Article %T Age-relatedhabitatselectionbybrownforestskinks(Sphenomorphusindicus) %A Qi-Ping ZHU %A Meng-Yao ZHU %A Ying-Chao HU %A Xue-Ya ZHANG %A Guo-Hua DING %A Zhi-Hua LIN %J 动物学研究 %P 29-33 %D 2015 %R 10.13918/j.issn.2095-8137.2015.1.29 %X Inreptiles,habitatselectionistheprocesswherebysuitablehabitatisselectedthatoptimizesphysiologicalfunctionsandbehavioralperformance.Here,weusedthebrownforestskink(Sphenomorphusindicus)asamodelanimalandexaminedwhetherthefrequencyofactiveindividuals,environmentaltemperature,illuminationofactivityarea,andhabitattypevarywithdifferentageclasses.WesurveyedthenumberofactiveindividualsandmeasuredenvironmentalvariablesatBaiyunshanMountaininLishui,Zhejiang,China.WefoundnodifferenceintheactivityfrequencyofadultandjuvenileS.indicus;theactivitypatternofactiveindividualswasbimodal.Themeanenvironmentaltemperatureselectedbyadultswashigherthanthatselectedbyjuveniles.Theenvironmentaltemperatureofactiveareasmeasuredat0900-1000hand1100-1200hwashigherthanat1400-1500h;illuminationoftheactiveareaat1000-1200hwasalsohigherthanat1400h-1600h.Thenumberofactiveindividuals,theenvironmentaltemperatureandilluminationofactivityareasshowedpairwisepositivecorrelation.Therewasadifferenceinhabitattypebetweenjuvenilesandadultswherebyjuvenilespreferrockhabitats.WepredictthatactiveS.indicusselectoptimalhabitatswithdifferentenvironmentaltemperaturesandtypestoreachthephysiologicalneedsparticulartotheirageclasses. %K Sphenomorphusindicus %K Age-relatedselectiondifference %K Habitatselection %K Temperature %K Illumination %K Habitattype %K Activityfrequency %U http://www.zoores.ac.cn/CN/abstract/abstract3559.shtml
