John Kennedy %A Seeram Ramakrishna %J ´ß»¯Ñ§±¨ %P 1951-1958 %D 2013 %R 10.1016/S1872-2067(12)60682-2 %X £¿Variousnanosizedzincaluminate(ZnAl2O4)sampleswerepreparedbyaconventionalandamicrowavemethodbothwithandwithoutusingOpuntiadileniihawplantextract,andwerecharacterizedbyX-raydiffraction(XRD),Fouriertransforminfraredspectroscopy(FT-IR),highresolutionscanningelectronmicroscopy(HRSEM),energydispersionscanning(EDX),temperaturedependentconductancemeasurements,thermoelectricpowermeasurements,ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)diffusereflectancespectroscopy,andphotoluminescencespectroscopy.TheformationofapureZnAl2O4phasewasconfirmedbyXRDandFT-IR.Achangeinmorphologyfromnanosizedplatestonanosizedsheetswith,respectively,theconventionalandmicrowaveheatingmethodswasclearlyshownbyHRSEM.UV-VisdiffusionreflectancespectroscopymeasuredthebandgapsofZnAl2O4nanosizedplatesandnanosizedsheetsas3.5and3.9eV,respectively.ThesynthesizedZnAl2O4wassinglecrystallineandhasthreephotoluminescenceemissionsat482,528,and540nm.ZnAl2O4nanosizedsheetspreparedbythemicrowavemethodshowedhighercatalyticactivityfortheoxidationofbenzylalcohol(85%conversion)thanZnAl2O4nanosizedplatespreparedbytheconventionalmethod(60%conversion). %K Greensynthesis %K Zincaluminate %K Spinel %K Microwave %K Opticalproperty %U http://www.chxb.cn/CN/abstract/abstract21156.shtml
