%0 Journal Article %T KineticsandefficiencydisplayedbysupportedandsuspendedTiO2catalystsappliedtothedisinfectionofEscherichiacoli %A Majdi Kacem %A Gael Plantard %A Nathalie Wery %A Vincent Goetz %J ´ß»¯Ñ§±¨ %P 1571-1577 %D 2014 %R 10.1016/S1872-2067(14)60125-X %X £¿TiO2-mediatedphotocatalysisiswidelyusedinavarietyofapplicationsandproductsintheenvironmentalandenergyfields,includingphotoelectrochemicalconversion,self-cleaningsurfaces,andespeciallywaterpurificationsystems.ThedimensionalityofthestructureofaTiO2materialcanaffectitsproperties,functions,andmorespecifically,itsphotocatalyticperformance.Inthiswork,thephotocatalyticinactivationofGram-negativeEscherichiacoliusingthreephotocatalysts,differingintheirstructureandothercharacteristics,wasstudiedinabatchreactorunderUVAlight.TheaimwastoestablishthedisinfectionefficiencyofsolidTiO2comparedwiththatofsuspendedcatalysts,widelyconsideredasreferencecasesforphotocatalyticwaterdisinfection.Thebacterialinactivationprofilesobtainedshowedthat:(1)thephotoinactivationwasexclusivelyrelatedtothequantityofphotonsretainedperunitoftreatedvolume,irrespectiveofthecharacteristicsofthephotocatalystandtheemittedlightfluxdensities;(2)acrossthewholeUVlightrangestudied,eachofthephotocatalyticsolidswasabletoachievemorethan2logbacterialinactivationwithlessthan2hUVirradiation;(3)noneoftheusedcatalystsachievedatotalbacterialdisinfectionduringthetreatmenttime.Foreachofthecatalyststhequantumyieldhasbeenassessedintermsofdisinfectionefficiency,the2Dmaterialshowedalmostthesameperformanceasthoseofsuspendedcatalysts.Thiscatalystispromisingforsupportedphotocatalysisapplications. %K Heterogeneousphotocatalysis %K Slurriedcatalyst %K Supportedcatalyst %K Disinfectionkinetics %K Quantumyield %U http://www.chxb.cn/CN/abstract/abstract21373.shtml
