Figueiredo %J ´ß»¯Ñ§±¨ %P 896-905 %D 2014 %R 10.1016/S1872-2067(14)60103-0 %X £¿Multi-walledcarbonnanotubes(CNTs)weresubmittedtochemicalandthermaltreatmentsinordertoincorporatedifferentheteroatomsonthesurface.O-,S-andN-containinggroupsweresuccessfullyintroducedontotheCNTswithoutsignificantchangesofthetexturalproperties.Thecatalyticactivityoftheseheteroatom-modifiedCNTswasstudiedintwoliquidphaseoxidationprocesses:catalyticozonationandcatalyticwetairoxidation(CWAO),usingoxalicacidandphenolasmodelcompounds.Inbothcases,thepresenceofstronglyacidicO-containinggroupswasfoundtodecreasethecatalyticactivityoftheCNTs.Ontheotherhand,theintroductionofSspecies(mainlysulfonicacids)enhancedtheremovalrateofthemodelcompounds,particularlyintheCWAOofphenol.Additionalexperimentswereperformedwitharadicalscavengerandsodiumpersulfate,inordertoclarifythereactionmechanism.NitrogenfunctionalitiesimprovethecatalyticperformanceoftheoriginalCNTs,regardlessoftheprocessorofthepollutant. %K Advancedoxidationprocesses %K Catalyticozonation %K Catalyticwetairoxidation %K Sulfurgroups %K Nitrogengroups %K Oxygengroups %K Carbonnanotubes %K Surfacechemistry %U http://www.chxb.cn/CN/abstract/abstract21345.shtml
